A medically supported setting for Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
Upstream works alongside therapists to make Ketamine-Assisted Therapy available within a safe, collaborative clinical setting. We provide the medical assessment, medication support, monitoring and space needed for treatment, while each client’s therapist remains at the centre of their therapeutic care.
Located in Abbotsford, Upstream welcomes therapists and their clients from across the Fraser Valley and British Columbia.
Medical care that works alongside the therapeutic relationship.
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy requires medical screening and monitoring along with mental health support. Upstream’s role is to manage the medical side of the experience so therapists can remain focused on the work they already do with their clients.
Before treatment, our medical team completes a comprehensive assessment to determine whether ketamine may be a safe and appropriate option. During each session, we administer the medication, monitor the client and remain available to respond to their medical needs.
The client’s therapist prepares them for the experience, accompanies them during their session and supports the integration of what emerges afterward. This collaborative approach allows clients to explore Ketamine-Assisted Therapy without stepping away from an established and trusted therapeutic relationship.
What Upstream Provides:
Medical assessment and screening
Ketamine prescribing and administration
Medical monitoring throughout each session
A private, purpose-designed treatment space
Coordination with the client’s therapist
Clinical oversight from an experienced medical team
A space designed for safe, supported, unhurried care.
Upstream’s role is to manage the medical side of the ketamine-assisted therapy experience so therapists can remain focused on psychological support.
The clinic environment has been designed to feel comfortable and unhurried, with private treatment rooms that give clients space to settle into the experience alongside their therapist. Medical support remains close at hand throughout the session, balancing the warmth and privacy of the setting with the clinical oversight needed for treatment.
Our team brings together experience in medicine, community health and Ketamine-Assisted Therapy. We work collaboratively with therapists to create a treatment experience grounded in preparation, medical safety and respect for each client’s existing care.
